What is a doula?

A doula is a non-medical professional trained to support birthing families and empower them to advocate for the birth experience they want.

Why hire a doula?

Doulas provide ongoing physical, emotional, and informational support to clients. Statistics show that births with doula support lead to shorter labors, fewer medical interventions, and better birth outcomes.

Who needs a doula?

Anyone! It doesn’t matter if you give birth at home or in a hospital, doulas are not a luxury. Anyone giving birth can benefit from the support of a doula.

Full Support Package $800-$1,500

Our Comprehensive Prenatal and Postpartum Support Package includes six prenatal visits, each lasting 1.5 to 2 hours. Services include attendance at doctor appointments as needed, creation of personalized birth and postpartum plans, and continuous support during labor and delivery. The package also offers 2 to 4 postpartum visits (1.5 to 2 hours each) to ensure a smooth transition.
Additionally, our services include assistance with meal planning, nursery setup, newborn care guidance, and feeding support, all designed to provide you with the comprehensive care and support you deserve.

Postpartum Support Package
$250-$500 (hourly rates also available)

Our postpartum support package includes four visits, each lasting 1.5 to 2 hours, providing personalized care and assistance during the postpartum period. Services include:
Development of a customized postpartum care plan
Support with newborn care and feeding (including lactation or bottle-feeding guidance)
Light housekeeping to help maintain a comfortable environment
Basic meal preparation to nourish and support your recovery

*Evening and overnight support is available upon request for an additional fee

Birth Support Package $400-$700

Comprehensive support designed to prepare you for labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. Services include:
A 1.5 to 2-hour session dedicated to creating a personalized birth plan
Guidance and assistance with nursery preparation and setup
In-person or virtual support during labor and delivery
Post-birth support for up to 2 hours to ensure a smooth and supported transition

Virtual Doula Services Available

Full Virtual Support

Our Comprehensive Full Support Package includes monthly virtual prenatal visits, each lasting 1.5 to 2 hours. And weekly check-ins two weeks before due date. Services include creation of personalized birth and postpartum plans and continuous support during labor and delivery. The package also offers 2 to 4 postpartum visits (1.5 to 2 hours each) to ensure a smooth transition with additional support for up to a year.
Additionally, our services include assistance with meal planning, offering remote assistance with nursery planning, newborn care guidance, and feeding support, all designed to provide you with the comprehensive care and support you deserve.

Virtual Planning Support

Our Virtual Birth Planning service offers a personalized one-on-one consultation via phone or Zoom, where we address any concerns or fears you may have about childbirth. Together, we will create a customized birth plan tailored to your unique needs, covering a wide range of scenarios. Additionally, we will discuss practical preparations for your nursery and guide you through postpartum planning to ensure you’re fully prepared for this transformative experience.

Pricing

We provide services on a sliding scale and offer a variety of flexible payment options tailored to meet individual needs. Please feel free to inquire about available arrangements.

How the Sliding Scale Works

The highest price on the scale reflects the full cost of the doula service. If you choose a lower amount, you are receiving a discount. This adjusted payment still corresponds to the value of the services provided, and by selecting this option, you’re helping ensure that others can access these services, especially those who might not otherwise be able to afford them.

The middle price is designed for those who can meet basic needs but have limited disposable income. Your payment at this level helps Community Doulas cover the essential costs of providing care to you and your family.

The lowest price is intended for individuals who struggle to meet basic needs, where paying for this service would create significant financial hardship. No matter what amount you choose to pay, we are committed to fostering a supportive community that shares our collective gifts, passions, and mission.

Refund Policy

Tallchief & Co Birth Services do our best to ensure our clients’ needs are met. All services are contractual and require a 50% non-fundable payment upon signing, with the other half of the cost of service due by 37 weeks. If you choose to cancel the contract in whole, you may do so at any point before you reach 34 weeks of gestation. Canceling before 34 weeks means the doula will keep the deposit and return whatever balance remains that you have paid past the deposit amount. If you choose to cancel the contract in whole after you reach 34 weeks gestation or do not ask the doula to attend your birth on the day, there will be no refunds, and we will keep, or you will owe us, the agreed-upon full fee for service. The only exception to this will be for pregnancy loss. If you have booked a doula before 14 weeks of pregnancy and you have a miscarriage, we will provide a full refund if no prenatal visits have taken place. After 14 weeks, we strongly encourage your continued use of services as booked.
